For many of my clients I also provide will and estate planning services. Before drafting a will, clients are provided with literature that explains the estate planning process and its costs. They are asked to list their assets and liabilities on a pre-printed information sheet and also to designate individuals or entities that will be named as either personal representative, guardian or trustee in the will. With this information, together we can create an estate plan that preserves, protects and distributes property, while minimizing estate tax liability. As a part of my estate planning practice, I prepare powers of attorney so that a client can delegate financial decision making authority, should the need arise. I also prepare living wills and health care treatment powers of attorney for those clients who wish to delegate decision making authority to another for future health and medical treatment.
